• Walmart gifts fire department’s public education

The generosity of a local retail store has enabled the county department to reach and teach more children about fire safety.
On Sept. 25, Walmart, through the company’s foundation, donated $1,000 to the public education department of McDuffie County Fire Rescue.
Store managers presented a poster check to Lt. Ed Lewis, the fire department’s fire and life safety instructor.
The fire and rescue service educates the public on safety and fire prevention.
