• Family dispute leads to shots fired in home

A domestic dispute early Sunday morning in McDuffie County lead to the arrest of two brothers.
According to Maj. Ronnie Williamson, of the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Department, 24-year-old Shawn Wade Brooks and 20-year-old Matthew Dillon Brooks, both of an Oakwood Drive address, were arrested. The dispute started at Belle Meade Country Club and ended at the Brooks’ family home.
The case is still under investigation, but Williamson said deputy Clay Hammond was dispatched to the Steven Brooks home Sunday around 1:30 a.m. after the department received the report of a possible fight and gunshots being fired.
