Julian David Ogletree

Julian David Ogletree, 74, of Warrenton Hwy. in Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Sept. 26, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 29, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Holbrook and Rev. Grant Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ogletree was a native of McDuffie County, Ga. and was the son of the late Verne Ogletree and the late Marjorie Holzendorf Ogletree. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was retired as a Conductor with CSX Railroad with 37 years service. Mr. Ogletree was also a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Ogletree; sons, Rodney Ogletree of Augusta, David Ogletree of Thomson; daughter, Vicki Wescott of Jacksonville; brother, Joe Ogletree of Thomson; sister, Margie Ann Wilson of Kentucky; grandchildren, Dylan Wescott, Katelyn Ogletree, Sophie Ogletree, and Brayden Weets. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip David Ogletree.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 28, at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Albert Radford III
Albert Sidney "Buddy" Radford III, of Lincolnton, Ga., husband of Carole Radford & father of Elizabeth Ashmore & Albert Radford IV, entered into rest on Tues., Sept. 25, 2012.
Funeral services were held on Thurs., Sept. 27, at Lincolnton United Methodist Church. Interment was in Lincolnton City Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Wed., Sept. 26, at Rees Funeral Home in Lincolnton.

Ruby M. Scott
Ruby Mae Scott, 85, of Appling, Ga., mother of Marion Scott, entered into rest on Sept. 22, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. at First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church & Cemetery in Appling. The body will lie in state at 12 noon.
D.T. Brown Memorial Mortuary of Thomson, Ga. is handling the arrangements.

Mae Radford Shoemaker
Mae Radford Shoemaker, 77, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on Sept. 24, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Sept. 27, at the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Drawdy and Brian Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Hixenbaugh, Dennis Hixenbaugh, Mike Beerbohm, Mike Grzybowski, Callaway Workman, and Billy Wells.
Mrs. Shoemaker was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and was the daughter of the late Chesley Radford and the late Lillian Reese Partain. Mrs. Shoemaker had worked as a seamstress at Thomson Company and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her son, Donald Shoemaker and his wife Phyllis; daughters, Vivian Hixenbaugh, Debra A. Vinson and her husband Lynn, Tammie E. Beerbohm and her husband Mike; half-brother, Dennis Partain; grandchildren, Brian Shoemaker, Crystal Shoemaker, Melissa H. Grzybowski, Brooke Vinson, Amber Vinson, Hunter Vinson, Austin Hixenbaugh; and two great-grandchildren, Paige Grzybowski and Addison Grzybowski.
Friends may call at the Shoemaker residence, 237 Morningside Dr., Thomson, Ga. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
