• Thomson Golf Classic benefits Boys & Girls Club

Twenty-two teams signed up to participate in the Thomson Golf Classic to benefit the Thomson Boys & Girls Club.
Charlie Newton, of the local club’s advisory board, said Monday’s event at Belle Meade Country Club helped the club in many ways.
“The tournament was outstanding, and I am proud of the support shown to the club,” said Newton. “It’s growing every year because it makes a big difference as far as helping the youngsters.”
Steve Strouble and Mac McAlister, both participated in clubs as youngsters and spoke of their ties.
