The opening of The Brickyard met with mostly rave reviews, however new policies will be implemented immediately to address people standing and loitering near the concession area.
Jim LeBrun, McDuffie County School superintendent, said the response has been positive after the opening game in which the Thomson Bulldogs defeated Lakeside (Evans) 51-27.
“The feedback I’ve received from the community, board members and coaches is that the facility is tremendous and outstanding,” he said. “We are still finishing up the field houses, but everything seemed to go really well.”
LeBrun said that a major issue is the congestion in the concession stand area. He and school security personnel and local law enforcement met Wednesday afternoon to address the concerns.
