• Officer slightly injured in chase crash

A three-car crash was the result of a police chase in Thomson early Monday morning.
Two Thomson Police officers were pursuing a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by by Jimmy L. Jones, Jr. 20, of the 460 block of Jackson Street, when he suddenly stopped, causing two police cars to collide into his car.
According to a report filed by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Matthew MacDonald, the 12:45 a.m. accident on Westwood Drive, occurred as Jones attempted to flee Thomson Police.
