The Thomson High School Ninth-Grade Bulldogs built a 28-6 lead over the Lakeside Ninth-Grade Panthers in the second quarter. The cats clawed their way back into the game to win 40-36 at The Brickyard on Sept 30.
“It was a tough loss,” said Chris Hodges, Thomson’s coach. “Lakeside did a great job. Those guys are well-coached and they never stop fighting. “
Thomson’s early lead was built on four TDs: a 13-yard run by Billy Mance, a 40-yard run and a 22-yard run by Jabarius Parks, and another 46-yard run by Mance.
With a minute left in the first half, Lakeside had drawn closer, scoring to leave Thomson with a 28-26 lead.
