• Brooks to fill council seat

The Thomson City Council seat that was left vacant by the death of Bernice Brown has been filled.
Sadie M. Brooks, who retired in January after 32 years in custodial service for McDuffie County, was the lone person who qualified to assume representation of City Council District 3.
Qualifying for the District 3 seat began on Tues., Sept. 4 and ended at noon on Thurs., Sept. 6.
