Members of the McDuffie County Farm Bureau came together Aug. 24 for breakfast and to talk about farm-related issues.
Of particular concern was metal theft, which they hoped to address with elected officials.
The late arrival of some officials and absence of others put a chink in planned breakfast conversation and discussion.
According to Jane Young, office manager of the McDuffie County Farm Bureau, metal theft has become a common concern on many farms.
A new scrap metal statute designed to make it harder to turn stolen metal into money went into effect July 1.
