• Briarwood opens middle school season with win

Briarwood Academy opened its 2012 middle school football season Thursday night against the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars.
“Our line did a great job blocking for our running backs all night,” said Coach Bo Fleming. “It is great to start the season off with a win but we’ve got to come back next week at practice and get better.”
The Bucs won 20-14 in a hard fought contest. Briarwood received the opening kick off and returned it to the 40-yard line. The Bucs then marched down the field on a nine-play scoring drive.
