The McDuffie County Board of Education, at it’s Aug. 16 meeting, honored a student who placed first in the National Skills USA Residential Plumbing competition.
Brett Jenkins, son of Brett and Amanda Jenkins, competed at the skills competition in the past and this year finally took top honors in the nation. His teacher was Tony Arrington.
“It’s something to be recognized as the top in your class, the top in your school, the top in your state, and then the top in the nation,” said McDuffie County Schools Superintendent Jim LeBrun.
Jenkins won the plumbing division at the National Skills USA competition held in June.
