A Thomson man who tried to get a friend and a tow truck driver to remove a car from a vacant residence has been arrested and charged with attempted theft of a vehicle.
Thomson Police officers took Jamie R. Hill, 27, of the 850 block of Lincoln Circle, into custody Aug. 7, after he solicited others to help him take a car from 833 Mimosa Street.
According to Police Capt. Jamie Bridges, the police investigation revealed that the tow truck driver, who thought he was purchasing the vehicle, entered the yard and loaded a Toyota Camry onto the wrecker.
