• Two injured in Sunday accident

Two people were injured in a Sunday afternoon accident on Main Street in front of Fernanda’s Grill & Pizzeria. According to Thomson Police Sgt. Willie Williams, Payton Brooks, 16, of Thomson, was driving a Ford F350 south on Main Street around 2:30 p.m. and stuck the rear of a Dodge Avenger driven by 23-year-old Notesiondria Boyd of Thomson. Williams reported that Notesiondria and Tashaundra Boyd, 16, of Thomson, a passenger in Boyd’s vehicle, complained of minor injury and were taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Augusta. Williams said Brooks was cited for following too closely.
