• Ard rediscovers love of long beans

Ester Ard, of Thomson, recalls decades ago when her family would grow long beans in the Philippines. This year, she grew similar beans in Thomson.
She left the Philippines in 1972, when she was 21. However, this year marked the first time Ard has grown long beans in her backyard garden at her home on Greer Circle. When she brought a bag of long beans by The McDuffie Progress, some beans measured longer than 24 inches.
