The Thomson-McDuffie Middle School Bulldogs began football practice Monday, with nearly 50 players turning out.
Brian Usry has moved from assistant to head coach. He coached for six years at Washington-Wilkes High School and coached middle school football at Thomson for three years.
Helping Usry are assistants: Aaron Hall, Dexter Crawford, Corey Evans, Jerry Stanphill and LaBrandon Hudson.
Usry said the team is anxious to improve on last year’s 4-2 record.
