Funeral services for Kenneth A. "Kenny" Brown, 50, of Stapleton, Ga., will be held on Wed., July 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Wrens, Ga. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Lillie E. Brown
Lillie Evelyn Brown, 75, of Augusta, Ga., died on Mon., July 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Wed., July 18, at 1 p.m. at Sheppard Funeral Home in Gibson, Ga. Burial will be in Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tues., July 17, at the funeral home.

Essie Hill, 87, of Thomson, Ga., mother of Carolyn Hill, Sam Crawford, Willie Hill, Jr., & Booker Davis, entered into rest on July 15, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., July 20, at 2 p.m. at First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church & Cemetery in Appling, Ga.

Barbara Epps James, 71, of Appling, Ga., wife of the late James E. "Jimmy" James, passed away at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Fri., July 20, at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thurs., July 19, at the funeral home.

JoAnn M. Maddox, 60, of Harlem, Ga., wife of Sammy Maddox, entered into rest on July 13, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., July 18, at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tues., July 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Starling Funeral Home in Harlem.
Oleta McAvoy
Emily Oleta Echols McAvoy, 74, of Washington, Ga., wife of Marvin McAvoy & mother of Susan Swantner & Bruce, Roger, & David McAvoy, died on Sun., July 15, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Tues., July 17, at 4 p.m. at Clark Station Baptist Church & Cemetery.

John W. Raburn
John Wilson Raburn, 80, of Thomson, Ga., husband of Annie Raburn, died on Tues., July 17, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., July 19, at Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wed., July 18, at Curtis Funeral Home.
Lounette P. Reese
Lounette Peeler Reese, 90, of Lincolnton, Ga., died on Mon., July 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Wed., July 18, at 3 p.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church & Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church.

Carl Allen Reeves
Carl Allen Reeves, 50, of Florence, S.C., passed away on Mon., July 16, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Reeves was born in Augusta, Ga., a son of Gregory Ronald and Martha Jean Hill Reeves. He was a Process Control Specialist at Domtar in Bennettsville. Carl was a dedicated husband, father, son and uncle to his family. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and recently became a member of Sandhurst Church. Carl had a passion for baseball and he was a dedicated baseball coach in the Florence area for years. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. In recent years he became a faithful member and brother of the Hawg Boyz, whom he loved and respected. Carl will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. We love you always and forever. Rest in peace in Jesus arms.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his parents of Thomson, Ga.; his children, Amanda Jean Reeves, Christina Marie Reeves and Jake Edward Reeves, all of Florence; his wife of 25 years, Jean Ellen Reeves of Florence; a number of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, Mass. 02284-9168.

Barry T. Spence
Barry Teasley Spence, 58, of Macon, Ga., husband of Amy Rankin Spence, entered into rest on Thurs., July 12, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Fri., July 20, at Rees Funeral Home in Lincolnton, Ga.

William L. Trussell
William Lee Trussell, 86, of Atlanta, died on July 19, 2012.
A memorial service will be held on Sat., July 21, at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hitchcock Trussell; daughters and sons-in-law, Claire and Tim Burrell and Carol and Mike Langford; and granddaughter, Molly Michalak, all of Atlanta. Born Dec. 15, 1925 in Tallassee, Ala., Mr. Trussell graduated from Troy State University and Peabody College. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II. Mr. Trussell was an educator for 46 years, having served as high school principal, teacher and football coach in several schools in Georgia. He also worked for the Georgia State Department of Education. Mr. Trussell was a lifelong Methodist and actively involved in his local church. He was truly a Southern Gentleman, as well as a very gentle and kind man.
Mr. Trussell's body was donated to Emory University School of Medicine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 458 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta, Ga. 30308.
