Erna P. Bauserman, 72, of Grovetown, Ga., wife of the late Walter Bauserman, entered into rest on Thurs., July 12, 2012.
Funeral services were held on Sat., July 14, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation was held on Fri., July 13, at Starling Funeral Home in Harlem, Ga.
Bertha Chester
Homegoing services for Bertha M. Oatman Chester, 78, of Augusta, Ga., mother of Vinson Oatman & Shirley Davis, were held on Sat., July 14, 2012, at Thompson Springhill A.M.E. Church in Matthews, Ga. Interment was in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Charles Cody "Chuck" Christie, 77, of McCormick, S.C., entered into rest on Sat., July 7, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Fri., July 13, at Lincolnton United Methodist Church. The family received friends after the service.

Visitation will be held on Mon., July 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Allen Holloway, 84, of Lincolnton, Ga., husband of Betty Holloway & father of Lilly Turner & Al Holloway, entered into rest on Sat., July 14, 2012.

Visitation was held on Sun., July 15, at Rees Funeral Home in Lincolnton.

Sandra L. Kitchens, 64, of Harlem, Ga., mother of Scarlett Carothers & Todd Kitchens, passed away on July 14, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., July 18, at Poteet Funeral Home in Augusta, Ga. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tues., July 17, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia Byrd May, 87, of Thomson, Ga., widow of Ernest Byrd & James May & mother of Roger Byrd, died on Fri., July 13, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Mon., July 16, at Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
The family received friends on Sun., July 15, at the funeral home.

Geneva "Ginny" Clark (Lyle) McGuire, 92, of Leah, Ga., wife of the late Byron S. McGuire, Sr., passed away on Fri., July 13, 2012.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., July 17, at Dunns Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Appling, Ga. No visitation will be held.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tues., July 17, at Iron Hill Advent Christian Church & Cemetery in Dearing, Ga.
Visitation will be held on Mon., July 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Starling Funeral Home in Harlem, Ga.
Roger D. Stephens, Sr.
Mechanic
Roger Darrell Stephens, Sr., 67, of Thomson, Ga., widower of Helen Stephens, died on Sat., July 14, 2012, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., July 17, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Doolittle officiating. Burial will be in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stephens was a native of McDuffie County. He was a mechanic and a Baptist by faith. Survivors include his son, Roger Darrell (Julia) Stephens, Jr. of Pelion, S.C.; his daughter, Tina Roberson of Swainsboro, Ga.; two step-daughters, Brenda (Billy) Johnson of Warrenton, Ga. and Paula (Glenn) Kitchens of Thomson: his two sisters, Sherrie Bohler of Warrenton and Brenda (Ben) Hargrove of Mesquite, Texas; his two brothers, Royce (Cindy) Stephens, Jr. of North Augusta, S.C. and Tony (Patricia) Stephens, Sr. of Thomson; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pilgrim, Danny Pilgrim, Andy Stephens, Allen Reeves, Jonathan Stephens, and Dan Dohler.
Friends may call at the residence of Amy Reeves or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday night at the funeral home.
