“Give me my flowers while I yet live, So that I can see the beauty that they bring. Friends and loved ones may give me flowers when I’m sick or on my sick bed, but I'd rather have just one tulip right now than a truckload of roses when I’m dead. Speak kind words to me while I can hear them, so that I can hear the beauty that they bring.”
The late Rev. James Cleveland made the aforementioned verses popular in the song “Give me my flowers.” The presentation of life’s flowers is just what Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Warren County will be doing on July 8.
The church will honor Eloise Hudson, who marks her 106th birthday on July 14, and the members will recognize her life and service to the church and community.
