Three Thomson churches made three separate mission trips to the same country. In each case, the purpose was the same — to help people in Honduras.
First United Methodist’s group travelled to Honduras from May 26 to June 2. Mission groups from the church have made trips to Honduras for seven years. Twenty-four participants were in the group this year.
“We went to the mainland the first four trips,” said Jimmy Ansley.
This year’s trip was to Roatan, an island in Honduras. In previous years, groups from the church have also visited Utila. Beverly Casstevens, associate pastor for the church, describes Utila as an island which is even more remote that Roatan.
