• Area student wins national plumbing championship

A recent Thomson High School graduate, who plans to pursue a degree in pre-mechanical engineering, is number one in the country for high school construction plumbing.
Brett Alan Jenkins placed first in the National Skills USA Championship Plumbing Competition in Kansas City on June 28.
The Skills USA Championship is the showcase for the best technical and career students in the country. The contest began at the local level and advanced to the sate and national levels.
