• Dexter Jones gets life in prison

Dexter Jones, on trial for the murder of Kenny Johnson in 2010, received a life in prison sentence on Friday.
He was tried in a bench trial before Toombs Circuit Chief Judge Roger Dunaway and was found guilty of seven of the eight counts in the State of Georgia verses Dexter Jones.
Jones, of Augusta, was charged with malice murder, felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the shooting death of Dearing resident Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson in 2010.
