• Washington Heights seeks deeper growth and higher reach

The motto growing deeper and reaching higher will be evident as the members of Washington Heights Baptist Church enter into a stage of transition.
After two years of leading the 70 people who regularly attend services each Sunday and those who attend midweek activities, the Rev. Rodney Peavy and his family are bidding a fond farewell.
Familial obligations require the Peavys to relocate to Buford. His last time in the pulpit of Washington Heights Baptist Church is June 24.
“We hate to leave,” Peavy said. “Our time here has been wonderful. This has been a great community.”
As he departs Washington Heights Baptist Church, he speaks of potential. “I see great potential for things to take place here in this church. I can see God doing some great things here.”
