Bob Simmons was the guest speaker at the Thomson Kiwanis Club's weekly meeting Monday. Simmons, a member of the Kiwanis Club in Washington, informed the group of Kiwanis Internationals' new joint effort with UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus throughout the world by 2015.
The goal of The Eliminate Project, the title of the effort, is to raise $110 million for funding the eradication of this deadly condition which causes sensitivity to light, sound and touch.
