By Linda Green

The Thomson Police Department seized approximately $1,200 from a Thomson man after finding drugs and drug related objects in his car during a June 6 traffic stop.
Officer Chris Mullis, while on routine patrol on Anderson Avenue, noticed a car with a person talking to the driver at the passenger window. When the officer turned around, the vehicle speed away.
As the officer followed the car, he observed the driver throw a bag into a ditch from the passenger window. Suspecting that the thrown object was marijuana, the officer initiated a traffic stop.
