• GBI now investigating Wilkes County murder

The body of a Wilkes County man and relative of a Thomson barber was found Sunday evening.
Fermer Corman (F.C. Butch) Dent, 63, brother of "Buzzy" Dent, was found dead by his wife at their 138 Bellewood Drive home in Washington, shortly before 7 p.m., May 27.
The death is under investigation by the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and crime scene investigators. They have been following leads and combing the crime scene around the clock to determine what happened.
