Aldona S. Anderson
Aldona S. Anderson, 101, of Harlem, Ga., wife of the late Dennis LeRoy Anderson and mother of Mary Jean Cox, passed away on Sat., April 14, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Mon., April 16, at Harlem United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in South Harlem Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services for Reggie Wade Battle, 53, of Wrens, Ga., father of Reggie Pinkston, Keonta Burnett, Deonte and Deondre Battle, Lashundra Miller, Kerelenko Battle Tabitha Terrell, Latoya Johnson, were held on Sat., April 14, 2012, at New Hope AME Church & Cemetery in Louisville, Ga.
Visitation was held on Fri., April 13, at James Funeral Home in Wrens.

Rhoda Knight Brown
Rhoda Knight Brown, 81, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on April 13, 2012 at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Tues., April 17, at the First Baptist Church in Thomson with Dr. Leonard L. Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Glascock County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late William Vinson Reese and the late Celia Mae Lamb Reese. She was a retired health care provider from McDuffie County Hospital and Thomson Manor. Mrs. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomson.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Knight Cason and husband Jeff of Thomson; sons, Robert Lewis Knight of England and Robert Lee Brown of Florida; brothers, William Homer Reese of Washington, Charlie L. Reese of Grovetown, Billy Reese of Vero Beach, Fla.; sisters, Elsie Warren of Vero Beach, Fla., Wally Irwin of Leesburg, Fla. and Betty Graves of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren, Anthony Patrick Ivie, Lokey Rabun Mauck and Robert Lewis Knight, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Mon., April 16, at the funeral home.

Jack Johnson, Jr.
Funeral services for Elder Jack Johnson, Jr., of Wrens, Ga., were held on Sat., April 14, 2012, at New Life Worship Center in Hephzibah, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Johnson; seven children; and five stepchildren.
Burnett Funeral Home of Wrens handled the arrangements.
Gene A. Land, Sr.
Gene Allen Land, Sr., of Washington, Ga., died on Fri., April 13, 2012.
Graveside services were held on Sun., April 15, at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington.
The family received friends on Sat., April 14, at Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington.
Ernest Robertson Prow
Ernest Robertson Prow, age 86, of Thomson, Ga., passed away on Tues., April 3, 2012, at Gibson Health & Rehabilitation in Gibson, Ga.
He was born to Ernest and Dorothea Prow in Memphis, Tenn. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Lieutenant piloting four engine bombers. Following the war he attended Memphis State and graduated from Purdue University with a BsChE degree and did graduate studies in industrial engineering. In 1949, he married Barbara Bartlett of Thomson, with whom he had two children. He spent his career in the pulp and paper industry working in various engineering and management positions. In 1996, he retired from the pulp and paper industry but found sitting at home was not for him and went back to work for a few more years at Dozier Realty. Over the years, he served as vice president of the local chapter of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers; Printing Committee National Chairman for the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry; and President of Toastmasters International in Savannah, Ga. In 1999, he married Iona T. Price of Thomson. After finally retiring he and his wife spent many years enjoying Franklin, N.C. in the summer and Thomson in the winter. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Iona Prow, Thomson; daughter, Leta and Gary Bird, Baxley, Ga.; son, Ernest and Alicia Prow, Arnoldville, Ga.; step-daughters, Irma Lynn and Wayne Whitaker, and Angela and Andy Blair, all of Thomson; step-son, Olin and Cheryl Price, Thomson; 20 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews.
Because of his love of learning, he donated his body to the Medical College of Georgia to help others learn. A private memorial will be held April 28 in Franklin, N.C.
Sue P. Schram
Sue P. Schram, 67, of Warrenton, Ga., wife of George Schram and mother of Tracy Hoshell, Dorothy Smith, Melissa Fields, Ralph Reville, Timothy Schram, and Jeffrey Schram, died on Sat., April 14, 2012.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., April 16, in Westview Cemetery.
The family received friends on Sun, April 15, at Curtis Funeral Home in Thomson, Ga.
