• Police catch bold rooftop skateboarders
By Linda Green

Hearing the patter of little feet normally brings smiles to the listener, but the patter of feet on the rooftop of a Thomson business brought a sense of possible mischief on Monday afternoon.
The Thomson Police Department responded to a Feb. 20 call from the Huddle House Restaurant about the sounds of someone running on the roof.
Police Chief Joseph Nelson and Officer Don Hilson responded to the call. The chief surveyed the scene and found items stacked at the side of the building, items that could be used to climb to the top of a structure. Using a ladder that the store manager retrieved from storage, Nelson climbed to the top of the building to discover two males lying on their stomachs behind an air conditioning unit.
