Southern Metal Roofing, which is locally owned and operated, can provide assorted metal roofing options and all the required trim to complete any project.
Terri Blackburn and Adam Chalker are partners in owning the business, but Blackburn manages the business day-to-day.
At first the two had planned to purchase a roll former, which is a giant piece of equipment that would have allowed Southern Metal Roofing to make flat roofing panels from coils of metal. They considered the current economy and decided to wait until later to add the machinery. A plus is that Chalker already knows how to operate the equipment when it is added.
From it’s location at 507 E. Hill St., Thomson, the business provides residential and commercial roofing panel.
“Pretty much any type panel you need, we have access to,” said Blackburn.
All the 40-year panels are guaranteed to be American made and American painted, as is the 10 year roofing, according to Blackburn. “That’s a good selling point, now. People are coming in and wanting to stick with buying American,” she said.
