• Library offers free workshop Jan. 26
By Wayne Parham

The Thomson-McDuffie County Library is hosting a free “Winter Workshop” for children ages 6 and up Jan. 26.
The workshop is set for 4 p.m., but space is limited and anyone interested in attending should call the library to register in advance. There will only be room for 18 children to participate.
“They are going to make two different take-home crafts,” said Jill Brooks, library assistant.
One craft project will be a snowflake ornament made from craft foam. The other project will be a small no-sew pillow.
“It’s just going to be a knot-tying pillow project,” she said.
Brooks, who will lead the workshop, said parents should send their children because the workshop is always fun and the kids enjoy hanging out with their friends.
The Winter Workshop fills a gap between a Christmas Workshop and a Valentines Workshop, which is set for Thursday, Feb. 9.
The February workshop will feature Valentine-themed crafts, to be announced at a later date.
Call the Thomson-McDuffie County Library, (706) 595-1341, to register for the upcoming workshop. The library’s director of children services is Susan Harris.
